Meet the Baker Behind Cake With Me
Hi, I’m Ally, the face (and hands!) behind Cake With Me. I’m a self-taught baker, cake decorator, and proud mum — and I feel so lucky to be doing what I love every day.
Starting this little business wasn’t always part of the plan, but it’s become one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Before I launched Cake With Me, I spent over 10 years working in schools, supporting children with SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health) needs. It was a job I absolutely loved — rewarding, meaningful, and full of heart. But when I became a mum, everything changed.
My little boy is now 17 months old, and like many new parents, my priorities shifted. I wanted a career that gave me the freedom to work around my family and be fully present for my son when he needed me most. I also had a growing desire to work for myself, to build something on my own terms, and to do something that truly brought me joy.
And that’s where Cake With Me began.
Baking Meets Creativity
Baking has always been a big part of my life. I’ve loved cooking since I was young, but there’s something about baking that just feels like home. I’ve always had a creative side — whether it was drawing, painting, or crafting — and cake decorating gives me the perfect outlet to bring that creativity to life.
Every cake is a new canvas. I love dreaming up flavour combinations, layering sponges, piping buttercream, and adding those little finishing touches that make each bake unique. For me, baking isn’t just about making something tasty — it’s about making something special.
From Hobby to Home Business
It wasn’t until we had a brand-new kitchen installed that I felt ready to take the leap. With a proper space to bake and a dream in mind, I decided to make the most of the opportunity. I registered Cake With Me as an official business, renewed my Food Hygiene & Safety for Catering, and began baking professionally from my home in Pershore, Worcestershire.
What started as a few orders for friends and local customers soon grew into something more. Now I create bespoke cakes, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and treat boxes for all kinds of occasions — from birthdays and baby showers to thank-you gifts and just-because treats. Every order is baked fresh, made to your specifications, and finished with love.
Always Learning, Always Growing
If I’m not elbow-deep in buttercream, you’ll probably find me watching cake decorating videos, researching new techniques, or browsing Pinterest and Instagram for new ideas. I’m a big believer in personal growth — I’m always challenging myself to learn new skills, try new designs, and expand my baking knowledge.
There’s always something new to explore in the world of cake decorating, and that’s one of the things I love most about it. No two cakes are ever the same, and every bake is a chance to do something better than the last.

Running Cake With Me has given me the balance I needed in life — the flexibility to be there for my little boy, and the joy of building something that’s entirely my own. I get to be part of people’s celebrations, help bring their visions to life, and make something that brings a smile to their face (and a happy tummy!).
This business isn’t just about cakes — it’s about connection, creativity, and care. Whether you’re ordering a simple box of brownies or a three-tiered celebration cake, I treat every bake with the same attention to detail and love.

Dream cake to make: Something completely whimsical and magical — like a fairytale forest or vintage with LOTS of piping!
When I’m not baking: You’ll probably find me out on a play date with my son, planning our next family holiday, or still… watching cake videos. I can’t help it!
